10. Raisen Fort


Situated 45 km away from Bhopal, Raisen, the ancient fort was constructed during the 6th century. The fort is situated on top of a hill and it houses palaces, temples and lakes and ponds. It once had an impressive 84 numbers of lakes and ponds but over the years the number has reduced to 15. Shrine of Hazrat Peer Fatehullah Shah Baba in this fort is most frequented. The fort has a rich history and has witnessed many battles. One of the famous rulers who ruled the fort is Sher Shah Suri.

9. Birla Mandir


Birla Mandir is situated at the highest point of Bhopal, atop area Hills dedicated to goddess Lakshmi. Birla Mandir not only provides a spiritual experience but also a panoramic view of the breath taking picturesque city of Bhopal. It is a place where one can have an overview of the entire Bhopal city. Apart from Lakshmi and her husband Vishnu, this temple also houses a beautiful shrine of Lord Shiva, with his wife Parvathi. Bharat Bhavan is an autonomous multi-arts complex and museum in Bhopal, India, established and funded by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.The architect of Bhavan is Charles Correa. Opened in 1982, facing the Upper Lake, Bhopal, it houses an art gallery, a fine art workshop, an open-air amphitheatre, a studio theatre, an auditorium, a museum tribal and folk art, libraries of Indian poetry, classical music as well as folk music.

5. Lower Lake


The Lower Lake or Chhota Talaab is a lake in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh state of India The lake was built by creating in 1794 to beautify the city. The construction was commissioned by Chote Khan, a minister of Nawab Hayat Muhammad Khan Bahadur.A number of earlier wells were merged in this lake.
The bridge that separates the Lower Lake and the Upper Lake is called "Pul Pukhta" or Lower Lake bridge. The lower lake has also been mentioned as "Pukhta-Pul Talao" in literature.

Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya(IGRMS) or National Museum of Humankind or Museum of Man is an anthropology museum located in Bhopal, India, to present an integrated story of the evolution of man and culture with special reference to India. It spreads over an area of about 200 acres on the Shyamla Hills in the city. This museum depicts the story of mankind in time and space. Located on Bhopal's upper lake, 'Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya' can be accessed either from Lake View Road or from another road near Demonstration School. IGRMS has a few permanent exhibitions, broadly categorized as
a) Open-exhibitions,
b) Indoor galleries (Veethi-Sankul and Bhopal Gallery) and
c) Periodical/ Temporary exhibitions.

3. Taj-ul-Masajid


Taj-ul-Masajid is a mosque situated in Bhopal, India. The name is also spelt as Taj-ul-Masjid. However the correct name is Taj-ul-Masajid and not Taj-ul-Masjid. "Masajid" means "mosques" (Plural of "masjid") and "Taj-ul-Masajid" literally means "Crown Among Mosques". It is the largest mosque in India and one of the largest mosques in Asia's.

2. Bhojtal


Bhojtal, formerly known as Upper Lake, is a large lake which lies on the western side of the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal. It is a major source of drinking water for the residents of the city, serving around 40% of the residents with nearly 30 million imperial gallons (140,000 m3) of water per day.Bada talaab, along with the nearby Chhota Talaab, meaning small lake in Hindi, constitute Bhoj Wetland, which is now a Ramsar site.

1. Van Vihar National Park


Van Vihar National Park is a national park in central India. It is located in Bhopal, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh. Declared a national park in 1979, it covers an area of about 4.45 km2. Although it has the status of a national park, Van Vihar is developed and managed as a modern zoological park, following the guidelines of the Central Zoo Authority. The animals are kept in their near natural habitat. Most of the animals are either orphaned brought from various parts of the state or those, which are exchanged from other zoos. No animal is deliberately captured from the forest. Van Vihar is unique because it allows easy access to the visitors through a road passing through the park, security of animals assured from poachers by building trenches and walls, chain-link fence and by providing natural habitat to the animals.
